M E D I A R E L E A S E BRUCE WOLPE JOINS FAIRFAX IN CORPORATE AFFAIRS POST Mr. Fred Hilmer, Chief Executive Officer of John Fairfax Holdings Limited, announced today the appointment, on secondment, of Bruce Wolpe as Manager, Corporate Affairs, a new position. Mr. Wolpe will join the Company initially on a six months’ secondment from Hill and Knowlton Australia Pty Ltd, where he will retain his position as Director of the IT and Telecommunications practice and his involvement with existing clients. The appointment is effective from 7 December, 1998. "Bruce Wolpe brings extensive experience in corporate affairs, corporate communications, government relations and the media industry, with a strong strategic focus across all these issues. We welcome him as a member of my senior management team at Fairfax," Mr. Hilmer said. Mr. Wolpe has been with Hill and Knowlton Australia since moving to this country in 1991. He is a Director of the Australian American Leadership Dialogue. He is a Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia and chairs its Government committee.
